Question Of The Week

If you could have a “superpower” (like a superhero in the comic strips) what power would you choose and what would you do with it?

  1. I’d be the Green Girl with the power to make depleted soils rich with nutrients, with the brush of my hand fields would miraculously green up!

  2. I would do what I hope I am doing anyway. I would nurture Mother Earth’s heart (see the photos of my garden), and send her love, respect, and healing, receiving the same in return.

  3. Perhaps we already do have the potential for all the ‘superpowers’ within us, but most of us lack only the consciousness and wisdom to know how to use them rightly in our everyday life! I’m reminded in answering this question of the Biblical story of the second temptation of Christ, where the devil told Jesus he could have all the kingdoms of the earth if only he would worship Satan. Think about how difficult that choice would be if, your heart aching for the pain involved in most people’s life, and knowing that your own light, love, wisdom and power could bring about healing and peace on earth, you chose to refuse the devil’s offer, because doing so would have denied the human race its right to free will and the depth and breadth of experiences which would make it fully conscious. The moral of the story: the appearance of the need for superpotent intervention may be deceiving, and using ‘superpowers’ may not bring about the ideal outcome. Hmmm…is this answer setting a cat amongst pigeons, I wonder?

    • I have to agree with your answer, Jill. Whenever I talk to my spirit guides about why there is so much greed, corruption, and cruelty in the world, I get the answer: We are here to suffer. That is how we will all evolve.

I realize I have grown and developed different healing techniques simply because I was hurt and neglected myself.

I developed compassion from noticing how others suffered, too.

I realized that abusers have been abused, sometimes within an inch of their lives.

I realized that hardness of heart and non-compassion were protection strategies for surviving tremendous levels of suffering.

A healing modality that takes into account that there has been abuse that caused the problem must deal with the state and history of the abusers as well. They were abused,
often by alcoholic parents, or parents with limited capacity to love and share.

And so it goes on and on, until one particular person in the lineage decides to deal with the effects of generations of abuse, and work to heal themselves and forgive their forebearers.

When a person does this, they become a healer for others as well. They are able to help others step out of the line of generations of on-going abuse.

And so we evolve somehow stumbling through the accidents and misfortunes of life, only to find that we are somehow responsible for our recovery from all those misfortunes.
It is character building if nothing else.

It helps to keep forgiving everyone, and take heart that our individual awareness adds to the health and healing of the world in a small way.

      • Absolutely, Carol. I see forgiveness as the greatest ‘superpower’. You may be interested in the discussion about it in the group ‘The Third Body’, under the thread entitled ‘Ho’Oponopono for healing relationships’.

    • I love your answer. It’s like the answers I get to questions like, Why do we all have to suffer so much? Thanks for sending it out.

  4. Great topic…I really like Samantha Stevens powers, a twitch of my nose a snap of my finger and BAM, time mastery, shape shifting, healing all of it…but I keep in mind what Spider Man says…with great power comes great responsibility. …and yes I think we may just be superheros in our own way after all… or at least in training. Excited to see the new Marvel movie.

  5. I choose the superpower of Love.

I claim the power of loving intention, sending from my heart beautiful life-enhancing waves that vibrate other hearts to resonate with our collective oneness. The perception of separation and the results of the perception of separation instantly dissolve… and an entirely new octave of health, harmony and peace are made manifest. This results in a ripple effect… realizing a generative, dynamic, collective expression of human potential more vibrant than ever before!

I believe our imagination helps us open our perception to what is possible!

  6. To make all the sunbeams into peacebeams, so that everyone that receives a sunbeam, receives inner peace, which manifests in outer peace. Sunbeams are free and everyone is worthy some sunbeams, no matter which darkness thou might be in.

  7. My “Superhero Power” would be, to align all I see, with love.

  8. perhaps the greatest super power of all is to live in a time of no super powers and still live joyfully

  9. I’d stick to what I have: the ability to live without the need to eat! It isn’t a superpower but an evolutionary ability rapidly becoming available to all of humanity. Just imagine the planet …

  10. I would choose the superpower called “Compassion”. Not your typical superpower but then again how many of us embody it? I would like to.

  11. I would like to have the superpower of being able to quietly and secretly give calm and comfort to people I come across who are in distress. I already know it’s possible….

    • Dear Tahni, It is possible. Last Wednesday I was at my favourite karaoke bub, singing my heart out and enjoying many friends, when suddenly we heard an angry drunk man, screaming obscenities at the barmaid. The bar there is horseshoe shaped. I strolled to the opposite side from him, and being careful not to look him in the eye, gathered love inside with all my might and directed it at him, along with a prayer for him to find within himself, calm. He immediately looked confused, mumbled a few more angry things to the barmaid and walked away.

  12. The Superpower to help others recognize their own Superpowers, and to redefine a “Superhero” in that they are all around us All the time. :o )

  13. Performing miracles. Actually this is beginning to happen. For me they happen mostly by accident. The just sort of pop out of Love.
    Be the Love

  14. I’d be able to climb up buildings like spiderman ! oh and fly all over the place too.

  15. ….and I’d just enjoy every moment of it !

  16. I would like to acquire the power to know where the family violence is going on and will reach out and ring the bell at their door and would ask for a glass of water to drink, thereby curbing down the violence/quarrels at home…:D I would like to name my character as “Doorman”…. :D

  17. I’d like the superpower of putting on a leather outfit and looking like Haley Barry in it!!

I just HAD to throw that in the mix!! LOL

The superpower I’d manifest is the ability to provide hands on healing to those in need. I think it’s possible as I work with Reiki – but I would like to provide a sense of immediate peace and tranquility so that whomever I come in contact with and is need of a “break” from whatever it is, they can have that moment of peace, and then choose how to move on.

  18. I’d like the superpower of being able to get people, myself included, to drop their defenses. My hope is that if we could see that we all have insecureties etc we’d more readily treat each other with care and compassion. I believe all humans are similar in a very fundamental way, we both want to love and be loved, but very often fear gets in the way.

  19. Reality is usually vastly different from what we think it is. We are entitled to any/all powers that we want. the only things stopping us are doubt, fear, and a stubborn belief in static consensual reality. I also think some people are worried about no having limitations… and what will happen if they acknowledge that they don’t. I’ve also personally experienced bouts of guilt.

    My “super”powers (So far!)

    Healing
    Animal, Plant, and Mineral Communication
    Harmony with Nature
    Empathy
Foresight (usually more like foresense and prophetic dreams)
    Energy giving, receiving, and manipulation
    Lie Detection
    “Extra”sensory perceptions
    The Sight
    Effect Emotions
    Active Manifestation!
    Great Night Vision
    High Pain Tolerance
    Rapid Healing
    Awesome immune System
Auto-correcting metabolism (when I have less food, I need less food)
    Extreme Flexibility
    Rapid Movements
    Projection
    Shielding

And if I have them, so does everyone else…

    With Wildness,

    Leanan Sidhe
