The Awakening Soul Reframe of Business/Marketing Language
The other day I was having an interesting discussion with a fellow coach, Janelle Buchheit of New Heights Coaching, about the power of words. We were exploring the awareness that many of the words in our society have a lot more weight to them than just letters.
For many awakening souls who are lightworkers with a calling to serve through their own business (like life coaches, body workers, energy workers, therapists etc.), much of the standard business and marketing language often just doesn’t resonate. Words like “work”, “profit”, “business”, “promoting”, “getting clients”, “warm leads”, “cold leads”, “branding”, “positioning” and the like can feel cold, uncaring or just represent well… “hard work” which is NOT what we signed up for!
If this sounds true for you, than what likely DOES resonate is the feeling that you came here to serve, but in a heart-centered, loving, balanced and empowered way that serves you too! So, this means a whole different approach to how you serve through your creative expression than most of society, who is used to the “daily grind” of “climbing the corporate” ladder 40+ hours a week to make enough money to enjoy their weekends.
So, when approaching your how your share your creative expression with the world, check in with yourself about what words you use yourself, with others and with your clients. Often you will find that simply shifting your words to really match your intent is a great way to lay the vibrational ground for the experience you are really wanting.
So, here are some examples of words that may trigger you that can be reframed:
If words like “business” or “working” don’t resonate, try using words like “my creative expression”, “how I serve” or “my gift”
If words like “promoting” or “getting clients” feels like your our their working hard trying to reign people into your clutches, try using words like “attracting”, “aligning” or “opening to” those I am here to serve
Even words like “posting” on Facebook can feel like a chore. So, if you are feeling called to use Facebook to share about yourself, try words like “offering wisdom”, “sharing guidance” or “providing insight”
There are no “right words” here. The point is to find words that feel good to you and inspire you to keep getting out their and share your gift with the world in a healthy, balanced way. So, reframe away and see how it changes your motivation to get out there and serve! http://expandingjoycoaching.com/blog/
