Progress in a couple of months

My friend Keri had trouble sleeping which led me to buy her some sleeping tablets. I’ve been trying to do some volunteer work with people with aspergers. I also rescued a cat which was lying half dead on the road, i picked him up and took him too the side and called the vets in [...]

Working on it..

I probably have been doing this all along, but without paying attention.. the last two I remember were helping a 92 year old gentleman with walking difficulties to his pick up location at work, he had a very pronounced hunched back and had a hard time looking ahead when he walked, I think this one [...]

Soothing A Tired Walker

I’ve been in a process of moving to a new place and country and this has taken so much of my energy. I am happy to return to the familiar and the usual pleasures. One of which is my commitment to do a random act of kindness weekly at least. Today it was towards me [...]

Completed shift

Hello Friends. There was a young Woman with a baby in the car set that she was carrying and bags of food in the other. She was having a hard time trying to carry everything into our Town House building. I helped her with the bags of food. Unconditional Love is the Key, Namaste :)

Kindness to Self

There are so many ways of treating yourself well and it is all the more difficult to do it without guilt because of the time taken from other duties, priorities and other people. My biggest kindness that I can do to myself is to release the guilt feeling from those moments when I’m dedicating time [...]

Offer a Seat to an Elderly

It’s been great to do that because life is really tough for the elderly in my country nowadays and the young generation rarely thinks of honouring the elders any more. So because this is rare, there is all the more gratitude in some of their glances. It brings instant feel good. :) I am becoming [...]

Hug Your Father

This is the most amazing one can do for men/dads to open their heart and feel love. And another important matter … encouragement. Mom’s have constant contact with their children, though there are huge cultural differences. Yet all over the world touch with your dad is even frowned upon, especially in the case of daughters, [...]

All that I have

This end of year I received a beautiful challenge from a friend: “Really? Have you taken fully to follow Jesus above all others?” I was thinking and thinking, a fear was creeping in my heart, the fear of what I was willing to give up and what not, also the fear of failure or saying [...]

Secret Angel

Probably my biggest dare for all the year has been to design a card and mail it to all my neighbours in the block of flats: all 41 of them. I’ve been living here ever since I was born, I know some of my neighbours, we say hello around the neighbourhood, but there are no [...]

Big Step

Wow, I am still in awe about the shift I am going through. Not so long ago I had a heated conversation with a person who does not believe in God and it felt so bad inside that I took a commitment to not speak about my beliefs in public and with “just about anyone”, [...]

Technology is There, Relationships are Vital

I was watching a movie today about how Cuba overcame the peak oil crisis. A man was saying that actually the technology is there and can be made use of, but only if relationships are close and collaborative. The transition movement – going from oil dependence to local resilience – places a great deal of [...]

First Step Towards Reconciliation

I was involved in a screaming match among colleagues and within two days I wrote all those involved engaging them and me in a dialogue about what went on instead of forgetting about it and letting it die out or be forgotten. We have not yet addressed the causes and what went on as a [...]

A Rose Cures Loneliness

We have a neighbour, nice lady. Her husband had passed away a long time ago, her children are each minding their own lives sometime visiting, yet she is pretty much by herself. Yesterday evening I put a red rose in her postbox. I am hoping she will think that it comes from a secret admirer [...]
